Chennai, September 25th 2022: Parvathy Hospital an Orthopaedic Super Specialty Hospital conducted a fitness awareness event ‘Rise Again – Walkathon 2022’ for the elderly people of Chennai.
The Walkathon Flag off was done by Dr J.Radhakrishnan, IAS (Hon’ble Principal Secretary Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection) in the presence of Ms Vinodhini Vaidynathan (Actress), Mr Santhosh Prathap (Actor) and Dr S.Muthukumar (Founder & Chairman, Parvathy Hospital).
Speaking at the event Dr Vetri Kumar, Executive Director, Parvathy Hospital said “Being healthy and active becomes more important as we age. However, commonly people succumb to back and knee pain and compromise their active lifestyle. That’s why, with much thought and consideration, we have organised this walkathon event for elderly people. We wish to promote fitness to everyone and showcase that there is no age limit to start a healthy life”.
A highlight of this event – More than 150 elderly people, who once were patients have now recovered from knee and hip pain via replacement surgeries, have come out, breaking the cycle of pain to lead a healthy lifestyle.
This is the 4th edition of Parvathy Hospital’s Walkathon series. Last iterations were held in 2015, 2016, and 2017.
