Rotary Club of Madras Youth Services team in collaboration with Meenakshi Shiv Kumar Eashwaran Memorial Foundation organized a Cancer Awareness Program named “One Walk One Hope”.

The event witnessed an overwhelming response with 27 Interact schools and 10 Rotaract clubs participating in a 4 km walk. The purpose of the walk was to create awareness about breast cancer and educate people on the importance of early detection and timely treatment.

The event was graced by the presence of the chief guest,Thiru Dayanidhi Maran, Member of Parliament – Chennai Central, along with Rev. Dr. Thomas Amirtham SJ, Principal of Loyola College. The President of Rotary Club of Madras, Rtn.Jayashree Sridhar, Youth Services Director Rtn. Dr. Parkavi Mahalingam, and Youth Services Chairman Rtn. Shiv Kumar Eashwaran, were also present.

The walk was dedicated to the memory of Late Meenakshi Shiv Kumar Eashwaran, who was a strong advocate of cancer awareness. The event was a huge success in spreading the message of cancer awareness to the masses. It emphasized the need for early detection and treatment for a better chance of recovery. Overall, the event was a great initiative to create awareness and educate people about breast cancer.
